Below are a few images of the exhibition my fellow students and myself recently curated as part of our MA course at Camberwell College. The exhibition provided a great opportunity to actually design and take ownership of how one portrays conservation to public at large, having been given control of all aspects of the exhibition, from physically preparing the space, and hanging and displaying work and accompanying labels, to designing the layout of the cases and flow of the space as a whole. As public outreach and engagement is an increasingly important activity within the heritage industry, designing the exhibition was a really good chance to get to grips with this element of conservation practice, and was immensely useful as it is more than likely many of us will need to undertake public engagement in our future careers in one form or another.
