The above images show wax seal repairs that I carried out today at the ERO. Repairs are undertaken in order to safeguard the wax seals from any further losses, by gradually building the exposed, vulnerable edges with new wax. The wax is melted over a flame, on the bent tip of a pointed knife, and then carefully poured on to the area being repaired.

The new wax can then be shaped and adjusted as necessary, once enough has been built up. The examples above have not yet been shaped, but this will be the next step in the process should they require it..
